Grievance Procedure

The Lincoln Institute of Applied Psychology is committed to conducting its continuing education activities in accordance with applicable professional, ethical, and legal standards and to treating participants fairly and without discrimination.

Although Lincoln Institute seeks to anticipate and prevent problems, concerns may occasionally arise regarding a program, instructor, program content, administration, accessibility, or another aspect of a continuing education activity. This procedure describes how such concerns will be handled.

Submitting a grievance

A participant who has a concern and would like Lincoln Institute to take action may submit the grievance in writing to:

The written grievance should describe the concern and, when appropriate, the resolution or action requested. A formal form is not required.

Grievances concerning an instructor or instructional content

If a grievance concerns an instructor, the content presented by an instructor, or the style of presentation, Lincoln Institute will review the concern and may share the substance of the complaint with the instructor as needed to evaluate and address it. The participant's identity will be kept confidential to the extent reasonably possible.

Grievances concerning a program or its administration

If a grievance concerns the program offering, its content, instructional level, administration, accessibility, or another aspect of the participant experience, the Director will review the matter and attempt to resolve it in a fair and timely manner.

Depending on the circumstances, possible resolutions may include clarification, corrective action, transfer to another program, credit toward a future program, or a partial or full refund.

Records and follow-up

Lincoln Institute will maintain appropriate documentation of grievances that request action and of the steps taken in response. Grievances will be reviewed as part of the Institute's continuing efforts to evaluate and improve its continuing education programs.
